Yochk'o Seffer
Yochk' O Seffer French Saxophonist and type-setter (born at Miskloc, Hungary, 10-7-1939).
He starts to study the music at six years, then, installed in France in 1956, is registered at the academy of Paris (sheers, piano, composition with Nadia Boulanger and, as a non-registered student, classes of Olivier Messiaen).
In 1959, in Bohemia, he plays with Mal Waldron, first of a long list of partners to which belong Charlie Rouse, Phil Woods, Steve Lacy, Ornette Colman, Pharoah Sanders, Dave Liebman, Kenny Barron, Joachim Kühn, Daniel Humair, Henri Texier... 1969: with Siegfried Kessler, Didier Levallet and the drummer Jean-My Truong, they form Perception.
The following year, we find him within Magma, and in 1973 with the pianist François "Faton" Cahen, with whom he creates Zao.
In 1976, he organizes Neffesh Music, together where improvisers of jazz will be together themselves and soloists resulting from the Intercontemporain Unit of Pierre Boulez.
Between 1983 and 1985, Jean-François Jenny-Clark, Kessler, Michel Godard and the drummer Peter Gritz will take part in Chromophonie, full orchestra that Seffer will make follow of a septuor of saxophones (1986).
In 1988, he plays in four-bit byte (Kessler, François Mechali, Gritz) of the compositions of Monk, homage to which will follow, in 1993, that returned in Coltrane by eighteen instrumentalists.

Mario Stantchev (piano, compositions) Made its studies with the Higher Academy of Sofia (Bulgaria), where he obtains the first price of the classes of piano, composition, orchestration and direction.
Holder of the Certificate of Aptitude and First price with the International Contest of improvisation of Lyon, he is currently responsable for the Department jazz to the National Academy of Area of Lyon and animates classes of piano to the IMFP. He directs regularly of Master Class, both to France and abroad.
He recorded "Sozopol" with Riccardo Del Fra, Peter Gritz, Laurent Blumenthal, Daniel Humair (Paris 1989).

Antoine HERVE born in 1959 in Paris
Antoine Hervé approaches the music by the study of the piano with eight years, then enters in 1975 to the higher national Academy of Paris where he studies the writing until 1984. Preceded with the international Contest of jazz of La Défense (Paris), he obtains its first engagements as fifteen years old with its orchestra. He created later his own label (Philoé Music) which enables him to publish Horizons in duet with Andy Emler, then Trio with Michel Benita and P. Gritz.

Kitűnő ötletnek tartom, hogy a kiadó előkotorta a porosodó bakelitlemezek tárából digitális átalakításra az 1980-ban kiadott Saturnus és a '82-ben megjelent Csigaházak című albumokat. A Saturnus együttes muzsikája, melynek szerzői-előadói magját hazánk talán legösszeszokottabb zenészcsapata, a Szakcsi--Babos-Kőszegi trió képezi, tökéletes képet fest kis hazánk 80-as évekbeli jazzéletéről.
A két album anyagát körülbelül 12-13 éve nekem sem volt alkalmam újrahallgatni, ezért nagy izgalommal tettem be a korongot a CD-játszómba, azzal az előrevetített bizalommal, hogy a Csigaházak mindig is kedvenc lemezeim közé tartozott. Ami egyértelmű üzenetként hatott rám, az a dalokból áradó vidám és optimista hangvétel, mely, azt hiszem, mára egy kissé mintha eltűnt volna zenészeink világvége-félelemben alkotó és muzsikáló szerzeményeiből. Erre a vidámságra és játékosságra utalhat néhány cím is, például a Zöld disznó dala, a Marionett, a Funky-rock, az Utcabál, az Elektronikus szerelem vagy éppen a Csigaházak is.
A kompozíciók egységesek, kiforrottak, még annak ellenére is, hogy az adott korszak viszonylag új technikai lehetőségeit, a szintetizátort vagy a moog-ot talán csak félve kóstolgatták zenészeink. A billentyűs részek úgy hangzanak, mintha a kis fiatal zseni, aki eddig csak a pianínóján brillírozott, megkapta volna élete első, érdekesebbnél érdekesebb hangokat produkáló szintijét. Ennek a sok effektnek a kipróbálása teszi olyan játékossá, kísérletezővé a dalokat, melyekben azonban minden hangzás jól definiálható, és soha nincs haragban önmagával vagy a többi hangszer által keltett hangokkal. A vezérmotívumokat mindig valami kellemesen csengő-bongó, kissé meseszerű hangzás egészíti ki, melyet hol a billentyűkből, hol az ütőhangszerekből, hol pedig Babos Gyula gitárjából kapunk ajándékba a többi hang mellé.
Gritz Péter és Dandó Péter játéka kitűnően illeszkedik társaik zenélésébe, csakúgy, mint az általuk szerzett dalok, a két lemez egységes, letisztult világába. Bármennyire is próbáltam belekötni ebbe a CD-be, a már említett optimista, kísérletező és vidám hangvétel, párosulva a többször egymás után hallgathatóság kellemes érzésével nem engedte a legmagasabb alá a minősítést, még annak ellenére sem, hogy a borító egy kissé egyhangúnak, egyszínűnek tűnik nekem a megszólaltatott zenéhez képest, és hogy a belső hátsó borító négyszemélyes csoportképe szerencsétlen választásnak tűnhet öt, teljesen egyenrangú zenész szereplése esetében.
Nagy kár, hogy ez a hajdani lelkesedés, ami zuhatagként lecsobog, ránk ömlik erről a CD-ről, mára egy kissé a magyar jazz túlságosan kottaszagú állóvizévé ülepedett. Aki jelen volt a jazz tanszék 35 éves jubileumi koncertjén és az idézőjelbe tehető ünneplésen, azt hiszem, átérzi, hogy mit hiányolok a mai muzsikusokból.
